BHS seniors holding signs that say 'accepted'

Just a month into the new school year, Binghamton High School’s senior class has already been accepted into college. Through SUNY Broome’s College Express program, all graduates from the BHS Class of 2025 are guaranteed admission to the college next fall. Binghamton City School District Superintendent Dr. Tonia Thompson was joined Wednesday by administrators and staff from SUNY Broome Community College to share the exciting news with BHS seniors.

“We’re thrilled to partner with SUNY Broome once again to extend this incredible opportunity to you,” said Dr. Thompson. “You’re in the final stretch of your journey here at Binghamton City School District, and I want to express how proud of you we are. Our goal has always been to help you believe in yourselves, to foster a sense of belonging, and to guide you toward success. That mission doesn’t end once you leave BHS; I know it will certainly continue at SUNY Broome.”

Members of SUNY Broome’s admissions office, Educational Opportunity Program, and athletics department all spoke to BHS seniors about the programs, services, and opportunities available to them. Binghamton students will also have the chance to tour campus during school field trips to SUNY Broome, as well as learn more about the college and its offerings during the upcoming Greater Binghamton College Day.

Last year, 84 of members of the Class of 2024 took advantage of College Express and were enrolled at SUNY Broome for the Fall 2024 semester.
